INTERIOR PREPARATION
The team at Coastal Fumigators will guide you through the steps required before fumigating your home or business. It might seem overwhelming, but we will assist you every step of the way!
- All people, pets, and plants must be out of the home before the fumigation process.
- You will need to arrange overnight accommodation for your family and pets, including fish, birds, and reptiles, as they may require separate boarding facilities
- All food, medications, and beverages not in factory-sealed glass or metal containers must be removed.
- This includes food in the refrigerator and freezer, ice cubes, and water coolers. Don’t forget pet food!
- Remove all alcohol and tobacco products.
- This also includes wine bottles.
- Cosmetics, skincare products, and dental hygiene products must be removed.
- Remove mattresses fully enveloped in plastic, water-proof covers, and baby mattresses.
- This also includes a diaper changing pad, bean bags, or any items with a waterproof covering.
Now, it’s time for the good news! You don’t need to remove any dishes or utensils; you won’t have to wash or wipe them down when you return to your pest-free home. The structural fumigants are colorless and odorless and will not leave any residue behind. It will not affect paint, finishes, or fabrics.
EXTERIOR PREPARATION
Preparing your home or business’s exterior can be easy with Coastal Fumigators Landscaping Team.
To treat the exterior of your home, it is important to make sure there is a 12-inch clearance all the way around the structure. This will allow the tent to fall evenly to the ground and ensure the surface remains level.
To complete this task, it might be necessary to uproot plants, trim vines, and prune shrubs. Additionally, decorative mulch, rocks, and gravel will need to be raked back, and any drainage lines will need to be covered to ensure the fumigation gasses remain within the tenting.
Other outdoor decorations like bird baths, potted plants, and patio furniture must also be moved away from the structure. Items attached to the structure may also have to be removed, such as antennae, satellite dishes, fences, etc.
TENT FORMATION
We are reaching great heights at Coastal Fumigators! There is no job too big or too small.
Structural fumigation encloses your property with a tent to allow for the release of precise amounts of gas fumigant into the tent. A seal is created to cover the structure using a plastic/PVC coated canvas material (“tent”), clamps, and weighted sandbags. This allows the fumigant gas to penetrate the structure’s cracks and crevices, eliminating pests.
FUMIGATION
Peace of Mind with our team of EPA-regulated and State Certified Fumigation Experts on the job.
One of our state-certified experts will complete a thorough inspection to ensure the exterior is properly sealed and will administer the fumigant gas. The amount of gas used is measured to confirm a sufficient level of gas has been maintained throughout the structure. It is crucial to note that during the fumigation process, no one is allowed to enter the premises under any circumstances. One of our Fumigation Crew members will remain on-site throughout the process to ensure everything runs smoothly.
TAKE DOWN
Fumigation is complete, and tent ventilation begins.
Once our state-certified expert confirms that there has been enough fumigant exposure to the infested areas to control all the targeted pests, they will begin the process of tent ventilation and removal. After removing the tents, the fumigant will safely disperse into the air.
RELEASE & MEASURE
State-of-the-art equipment is used to ensure your safe return.
Our state-certified expert will use advanced equipment to measure the levels of fumigant gas in your home and ensure that proper aeration has taken place. They will conduct testing throughout the structure, and once the home has been cleared, you will be notified. Additionally, “Safe to Enter” signs will be posted at all entrances to your home.
WELCOME BACK
It’s time to move back into your pest-free home or business.
Now that our state-certified experts have given you the all-clear, you can begin moving your pets, plants, and other belongings back into your home or business. You don’t need to clean or wipe down any surfaces, as the structural fumigants are colorless and odorless and won’t leave any residue behind.
You may also notice that all your cupboards, drawers, trunks, and vaults have been left open. This was done to ensure that the fumigant gas dissipates quickly from your home during aeration.
Our Landscaping Team will schedule an appointment with you to reposition items that were detached or moved away from the structure, such as fences, bird baths, potted plants, etc.
